'Til the Storm Passes Over
One of Lister's most beloved hymns, 'Til the Storm Passes Over, offers comfort and hope during life's tumultuous times. Written in 1958, this hymn has been a source of solace for many, reminding believers of God's presence and protection during difficult periods. The lyrics speak to the assurance that, no matter how severe the storm we are weathering, God's strength and protection is ultimate and His peace prevails.
The hymn is inspired by several biblical passages that speak of God's protection and faithfulness during trials. One such verse is Psalm 107:29, which states, "He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still." Another relevant passage is Isaiah 25:4, "For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall." These scriptures underline the hymn's message of divine reassurance and deliverance.

The storms of our lives may continue, but we can rest assured that:
"When the long night has ended,
And the storms come no more,
Let me stand in Thy presence.
On that bright, peaceful shore.
In that land where the tempest

Dwell with Thee when the storm passes by."
